Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. There is a free version, a trial version and 2 different paid versions. The free version of Auto Excelforms has all the features of the standard version. The key difference is that the functionality for the free version will operate with your first six data columns. You can do a lot despite this restriction.
For instance, in the easy filter form you can write advanced filter formulas of any complexity that can incorporate as many columns as you want. If your seach fields are at the start of your data, the functionality of the Browse/Find would be especially useful as well.
No. If you select a paid version, there is just a single low, one-time cost that allows you to use Auto Excelforms in perpetuity. This includes any bug fixes and minor upgrades.
You can purchase an activation Serial at any time that can be used to upgrade your downloaded copy of Auto Excelforms. Be sure to select the version that is appropriate for your operating system. Once payment is processed, an email will be sent with the serial number(s) and activation instructions.

Excel isn’t a database, so keeping related tables consistent can be tricky. AutoExcelForms brings database-like tools to Excel: it automatically shows parent records, lists child records, provides searchable lookup fields, and enforces referential integrity when adding, entering, editing or deleting data. These features work on both Windows and Mac, and even support co-authored workbooks, helping you manage complex tables accurately and efficiently — all without writing a single line of code.
Yes. AutoExcelForms works with Excel for Microsoft 365 co-authoring (OneDrive or SharePoint), so multiple users can open and edit a workbook simultaneously. AutoExcelForms detects changes made by others to the same record while a form is open, warns you, and reloads the latest data to help avoid overwriting edits. For best results, avoid editing the same records at the same time.
